Hmmmmm....

Maybe it's just me but these "new" Sabres look suspiciously like the old Sabres minus Thomas Vanek scoring goals. This "new" season opener was actually worse than the old season opener.

I'm sad.

I just made a quick trip around the Sabres blogosphere and everyone is sad tonight! (At least all the girls are.) I am really really sad. After the Predators game I was furious, and now I'm sad. What's the next step in the grieving process?

I am now protesting "the system" The past couple of games the Sabres have played "the system" to perfection. Particularly last night. Last night was "the system's" shining moment. And I wanted to poke my eyeballs with fondue forks. And I don't even have fondue forks. Come to think of it, I don't like fondue.

The Sabres problem is that only players named Thomas Vanek can score goals. It is unfortunate since only person on the team is named Thomas Vanek. Maybe change everyone's name to Vanek.

Some simple questions to comtemplate. Who is overachieving this season? Who is simply living up to expectations this season? Who is falling woefully short of expectations this season? Answer those three questions and it will become evident why they are drowning in a tenth place tie. Not their inablility to play "the system"

Can we start another new season in Tampa?

Where is the team that played against Pittsburgh and Boston last week? Someone should go out and search for them. The team that is playing now is crap.

Quick - any hamsters on treadmill videos?

I am completely in agreement with Vanek's Hair - I have pretty much had it with the System. I'm not sure how we were 6th in Goals last year with these guys, but apparently the rest of the league (and all their back-up goalies) have figured it out.

Whatever happened to Golisano's edict when he took over the team that he'd rather lose 6-5 than 2-1? Perhaps instead of starting the season fresh, we should start the ownership fresh and have Tom repeat his edict.

Watching these games is pitiful, regardless of whether we're winning or losing.

How much is Mancari begging to go back to Portland so he can skate a little and make some plays?

Congratulations Kate, after sadness the next and final stage of grieving is acceptance. Then the grieving process will be complete!
