If I Were In Charge

If the Sports Gods told me I had the power to do one thing, I would put Mats Sundin and Brett Favre in a plane and crash it into the snowy wild so I never have to hear their names again. They could survive on bears and fish and I could go on with the rest of my life.

Free at last! Free at last!

C'mon, I am sure that we can think of some baseball players to put into that plane...

Mats Sundin must be a Buffalo and/or hockey town thing. Haven't heard a single thing about him.

I agree with Bret Favre.

If we're talking about baseball players we just don't like then I can probably think of somebody *cough*Chipper Jones*cough*. But if we're talking about people that everybody is talking too much about then no baseball player comes to mind. There certainly isn't anybody in the realm of Favre.

I think we can probably add the USA Men's Basketball team too. I'm sure we'll hear more about Kobe and Lebron then we'll ever want to know in the next three weeks. They're calling them the Redeem Team, get it Dream Team, ReDEEM Team. Oy!

Yeah, I can't think of any baseball players who I'm desperate to get rid of right now. A year ago I might have said Roger Clemens but he finally seems to have gone away at least for the moment.

The worst thing is you know the Brett Farve madness is just beginning. It's all downhill from here.

They're calling them the Redeem Team, get it Dream Team, ReDEEM Team. Oy!

Journalists are so stupid sometimes.

Heather, if there is anything I can do to help get them on the plane, just let me know, especially Farve. I'm sick of hearing his name.

Tomorrow is going to be so much FUN when Fav-ruh goes to camp. He's just having FUN out there, right?

FTLT, I think A-Rod/Madonna and Romo/Simpson are about into bus crash/plane crash territory...

Tick, I have a strange confession to make: I feel a little sorry for Alex Rodriguez. I know! He has no discernible personality and is very hard to root for. But I feel bad for him sometimes. It's those friggin' Yankees fans.

Romo/Simpson is definitely a good one though. I don't watch enough football that it's really an issue - it doesn't seem to be quite as universal as Brett "He's just like a KID out there!" Favre - but they are clogging up my People and EW.

Heather and Lee - can you come up with a clever name for my blogspot 'b'log. The only reason I haven't made one yet is that I don't have a clever name.

I will mostly put on projects and rants about my various hobbies. Like, I just made some kayak and canoe paddles, and now I have a kayak going together in the den. I need a place to post the photos and progress.

In the span of one day (and it's not even over yet) I've seen ESPN have three different stories about Favre on the front of their website.

Highway Girl, welcome! Any fan of Hank's is a friend of mine. I see you also love St. Bernards so that's two points in your favor :-D

John, Lee's really better at the funny names but I'll think about it. And just to make sure you realize, this IS a hockey blog. I don't want you to be surprised once the season starts again :P

Lee, I'm pretty sure I hate Brett Favre.

What other hobbies besides kayaking. Not sure I could come up with a kayak title since I don't know anything about kayaking. The only think I know about a kayak is that it is a palindrome.

John, if the blog is going to be about kayaking and the like, how about "Up the Creek"???
