Home Sweet Home

Thanks to everyone who made a suggestion for fun in Buffalo. You all gave us some great ideas and we'll definitely be tackling as much as we can this summer and into the fall and winter. By all means, please keep leaving comments or emailing if you think of more stuff. So far here's a rough agenda of some of the things we're planning on doing: Thursday in the Square (Gin Blossoms), Allentown Art Festival, Shakespeare in the Park, a Bisons game or two (definitely the big Independence Day game with fireworks and the BPO), Taste of Buffalo, and something at Artpark probably the BPO again. I'm sure somewhere in there we'll squeeze in a walk or two along the waterfront since that's a favorite of ours and hopefully we can hit Forest Lawn at some point too. So much to do, so little time.

Fortunately, it appears we're going to have plenty of time to explore since we just found out today that we're now almost-homeowners. That's right, no longer can we just abandon Buffalo in the dead of the night when the coppers turn up the heat. Closing isn't until August so there's plenty of time for things to fall apart but for now, we're pretty stoked. Mark and I have been married for eight and a half years and we've always lived in apartments so the whole house thing is a big deal for us. In honor of this major milestone, enjoy this video. Our new 'hood is mentioned in there somewhere:

Congrats on the almost home ownership! Too bad about the easy skipping town part though. Good thing being a Sabres fan isn't illegal where you are...

The Knob Hockey guys don't really narrow it down much, do they?

It's so exciting! But I totally forgot about what I would do if the coppers turned up the heat. Hm.
