A Picture's Worth a Thousand Words

It's been many, many years since I watched tennis on any kind of regular basis. To give you a timetable, my last favorite player was Stefan Edberg. However, that doesn't mean I don't know a great sports moment when I see it. Roger Federer standing on that podium this morning, openly crying while the Swiss anthem played? If you were watching and that didn't choke you up, you have no heart. This is why I love sports. Congratulations, Roger.

I'm a tennis fan and a Federer fan and I was really psyched for the whole match. Loved hearing that French Open crowd basically urging Federer to finally win it; loved hearing the chair umpire have a hint of excitement in his voice when he announced "Advantage Federer" before the last point. And I teared up the second Soderling's final shot hit the net.

This win is probably a great shot in the arm for Federer, who has struggled off and on recently. I love the beauty of his game, so I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.
