Check it out, yo! I'm famous!
I knew saying nice things about Mike Harrington would pay off eventually!
(I'm going to try to take the rest of the weekend off from hockey talk so I'll see you guys in a few days. Or tomorrow if I crack.)
ETA: Mark's harassing me because I haven't said anything about Craig Rivet yet. ("The biggest trade the Sabres have made in years and you haven't written anything! This is your job!") So for the record, Craig Rivet = good. Experienced, supposedly a good team guy, plays the PP and kills penalties (two things a certain other UFA d-man doesn't do very often), and doesn't hesitate to throw down with people who pick on his teammates. I'll take that. My favorite thing about the signing is all the people who shifted from, "THIS TEAM NEEDS A VETERAN!" to "THIS GUY IS SO OLD!" with no hesitation.

Congrats on making the big time, Heather!

Mike Harrington is a genius. :)
Congrats on such an awesome shout-out, Heather!
Congratulations on the mention!
For some unknown reason I never check out the News blogs - maybe I should start!
Congratulations on that awesome, awesome shout-out! And the best part is now you can stop being so rational and intelligent!
Thanks, guys!
Becky, I will warn you that a lot of the commenters on Sabres Edge can be a little... uh... passionate? (Is that the polite way to say "crazy" and "unreasonable"?) But I think the blog itself is usually good stuff. I was really only reading Sabres Edge and Inside Pitch but they have a lot more over there, some of which are pretty good reading. I'm currently making my way through the archives of "Journey to the Finish Line" where on of the sports writers (Amy Moritz) writes about training for her first triathlon. Considering she couldn't even swim in open water when she started out, it's pretty cool stuff. Anyway, yeah, I'd check them out. Some of the writers seem to get blogs more than others but there's a lot of variety over there.

Hmmm... True. But I don't know, I think Buffalo might need all the ration and intelligence it can get :P
Sellout!
Hee! If it makes you feel better at all, 289, I doubt I'll be getting a shout-out from ol' Buck any time soon.
I love how so many people complained that Regier didn't know what he was doing, he screwed up again this year, blah-blah-blah. Then he signs Rivet and.... OH, so that's what he was doing. Sometimes you just need to shut up and wait for the final result before you try to tell someone how to do their job. Maybe, just maybe, they know what they are doing.
Sorry, that's my bitching for the night.
He is old! He's 33. That's 6 years older than me.
He is old!
SHUT UP!!! He's a little over a year younger than me and I am NOT old. I am NOT old. I am NOT old. :(

Yeah, but I think you have to be at least 31 before really count as veteran presence. 30 if you're desperate. I don't know, are there rules about that kind of thing?

Oh, good there is someone (a little) older than me around here! Wait, I didn't say that, Jennifer... :P

In the hockey world, I'm starting to think I might need to start checking out nursing homes and/or mortuaries. Apparently, after 30, you're OLD!
