What to Do With Tyler Myers

After much thought, I've decided to forward the following proposal for Tyler Myer's contract extension to Darcy Regier's office.

6 million  for 2012-2017
7.5  million  for 2017-2022
5 million for 2022-2025
3 million for 2025-2028
1 million for 2028-2032
$250 for 2032-2042
$25 for 2042-2047

95,502,625 over 35 years gives us the low, low cap hit of 2,728,646.

This GM stuff is easy peasy.

You make it look so easy! It's gonna be the new 5 for 25!

It is only a matter of time until we actually see a few deals like that...

Regarding Kovalchuk's contract, the last 6 years of a 17-year deal at league minimum was clearly an attempt at circumvention. It was only a matter of time before they'd start trying to push these to 30, 40, or 50 years. So I'm really happy the NHL has apparently come to their senses and actually rejected that ridiculous contract.

But Myers, though? Totally on board with your plan. Hey, we gotta keep him somehow.

Can we start a petition to fire Darcy and then replace him with you? I love this plan.

Shouldn't it be a 57 year deal to match Tyler's jersey #?

I wonder if I could tell my employer I'll work for a million dollars next year and just $25 in 2026?
