I know a lot of people my age LOVE Star Wars but really it was before our time. I wasn't watching that type of movie until 7 or 8 years old and that was 5 years after Return of the Jedi. The first whole Star Wars movie I saw was probably one of those Ewok movies and the only movies I've seen in the theater were Episode I and II.

So I'm not sentimental towards it, but I get it. If Lord of the Rings were on one channel and Willow was on the other I'd watch Willow for sentimental reasons. I mean seriously Warwick Davis vs. Elijah Wood? Saving a baby vs. destroying a ring? Lenny and Squiggy vs. Mikey from Goonies? Madmartigan vs. Aragorn? A sword that lights up or an acorn that turns you into stone? It's no contest.

I like Summer Glau's portrayal of a robot but in the first episode she acted like a regular human enough to fool John, all the students and another Terminator. Why doesn't she do that all the time?

I DO like Lena Headey in Sarah Connor Chronicles but I actually liked her even before that because I rent a lot of UK movies. Glau is definitely the best part but I was sold on Lena WAY before Brian Austin Green or Thomas Dekker. In fact, I'm still not sold on Thomas Dekker. I doubt a haircut is going to completely change him either.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6099439052359653516.post-45623422327941867402008-09-14T23:38:00.000-04:002008-09-14T23:38:00.000-04:00Amy, I'm with you. I liked her in the part last season but in the premiere she seems to have really nailed the robotic movements. It's one of those things that's deceptively difficult, I think.

I could probably agree that Firefly is better acted and written than much of the Star Wars universe but yeah, there's something about things you loved when you were younger that stick with you. I also think Star Wars has an innocence to it that Firefly doesn't.

And yes, I agree, Heather.

Thank you!Heather B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06796852014625052317noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6099439052359653516.post-52807773173217015162008-09-14T22:55:00.000-04:002008-09-14T22:55:00.000-04:00#77 -- Yeah, I'm with Heather on this one. Summer Glau as Cameron was absolutely brilliant. (but then, she also kicked but in Firefly with the 3 shots, 3 kills with her eyes closed, not to mention in Serenity.)

#87 -- With the prequels then yeah, Firefly (including Serenity) has a way better story and continuity. But because I grew up with the original trilogy as well as the Bantam SW books I'm with Heather on this one.

#89 -- I used to watch it with my sister when she watched the re-runs on ABC Family. I saw through about the 4th season, then I went to college. A friend of mine was saying just last week that Gilmore girls is her guilty pleasure, as well as where she goes for suggestions whenever she wants to see a movie but can't decide.

#95 -- I can completely empathize. I grew a full beard in high school, and when I switched my senior year I found out that at least one teacher thought that I "was a sub walking through the halls."

#99 -- I grew up on Perry's Ice Cream, and I'm glad I can get it at Walmart 4 hours away from home. Last year I was able to get Top Shelf Sunday, but this year I couldn't find Breakaway Berrier.

And yes, I agree, Heather.TheSharpiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14797104769757754691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6099439052359653516.post-24787486267373032342008-09-14T18:58:00.000-04:002008-09-14T18:58:00.000-04:00I don't like the way it looks capitalized thoughI ...I don't like the way it looks capitalized though

I don't like the way the proper spelling of "website" looks. The accepted way in my work world is "Web site." The capital W annoys the heck out of me.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01565188346733253404noreply@blogger.com
